Former England Under 20 international Scott Wiseman looks set to change his allegiances to Gibraltar, according to Sky Sports News.
The 28 year old defender, currently at Sky Bet Championship side Barnsley, qualifies due to his Gibraltarian born mother. His decision to play for Gibraltar follows that of Chester defender Danny Higginbotham, and adds more strength and experience to the Gibraltar team.
Wiseman, who can play across the defence, as well as in right midfield if needed, played three times for England Under 20’s in the 2005 Toulon tournament, where Peter Taylor’s side came third out of eight teams.
Wiseman now joins a list of players the GFA have discovered to be eligible since joining UEFA, that consists the likes of Higginbotham, Anthony Bardon of Cray Wanderers, and Adam Priestley, who returned to Farsley recently after an unsuccessful spell at Guiseley.
