Gibraltar Govt. announces full list of events for Gibraltar UEFA celebration

Ahead of Friday’s official celebrations for Gibraltar being granted membership into UEFA, the Government have announced the list of events that will take place over the course of the day.

 

They are the following:

– All GFA registered junior and senior players and officials are invited to congregate dressed in their team kits in teams at John Mackintosh Square (the Piazza) at 4.30pm.
– The assembled teams, and the Executive Council of the GFA will march down Main Street to Casemates.

– The march up Main Street will be led by the Gibraltar Sea Scouts Pipe Band.
– The parade will be a “ticker-tape” parade.
– At Casemates a stage will be erected.
– The Mayor, the President of the GFA and the Chief Minister will address those assembled there.
– Videos of the GFA’s campaign to join UEFA will also be shown.
– Various entertainment events including pyrotechnics and music will be offered until
9pm.
– A fireworks display to commemorate the event will begin at 10pm from the Detached Mole.
– The Chief Minister will host a reception at Grand Battery House in honour of the GFA Committee.

 

Government offices will close at the earlier time of 4pm to allow their workers to attend the full set of events if they wish.

 

Friday looks set to be a great day of celebration to recognise a great achievement for Gibraltar.
