Gibraltar set to play international on 29th May

Gibraltar have set a date for a potential international friendly on the 29th May, 5 days after the UEFA Congress rule on Gibraltar’s pending UEFA membership in London.

A tweet from national coach Allen Bula states: “1st international match for national “A” team. 29th may.”

The opponent, and potential location is currently unconfirmed, although a few nations, such as England, Republic of Ireland and Germany already have confirmed fixtures on those days.

  1. Such a shame that England can’t be Gib’s first opponents (provided all goes well in London, of course)! Looking at FIFA’s website, it seems there aren’t very many friendlies during the week of the 29th so you could be facing anyone! Which would you prefer – a bigger nation or an established smaller one? Scotland could be an option – good chance for Gib to open with a win (ah…arrogant Englishman…)!
