Spanish media reporting that UEFA have no choice but to fully accept Gibraltar

A number of Spanish sports news sites, including Marca and ABC.es, are running a story that claims that UEFA has no choice, due to the CAS ruling, but to accept Gibraltar as fully fledged members of the organisation.

The quote, which is attributed to UEFA president Michel Platini, suggests that the organisation is bound by the ruling from CAS to accept Gibraltar, due to the fact that they originally applied before their rule changes, which stopped non-UN nations entering the organisation.

Whilst the reports should obviously be taken with extreme caution, the news is still very positive for Gibraltarian football.
