Senior Cup weekend results + visit of school from Surrey

The Senior division took a break this weekend, so that the Senior Cup to take place, although in the case of Lincoln vs Lynx, it was more a case of men vs boys, as with strong crosswinds playing a small part in the game, Lincoln put 9 past Lynx in a 9-1 drubbing of the basement side.

Unfortunately for Lynx, they meet Lincoln again on Wednesday in the Rock Cup, and hopefully they can concede a few less goals this time.  The other Senior Cup match between Gib United and Manchester United remained goalless (Not sure if there was extra time used, or if a replay will occur)

Lincoln also took a 2 point lead in the senior division, with a game in hand, after a convincing 3-0 win over Manchester United.

Ironically, the second match between St Joseph’s and Lynx, the first of which was abandoned after an assault on the referee, was handled by female referee Lesley Jackson, who handled the match efficiently, keeping it under control.  More proof that female referees do work for Messrs. Gray and Keys.

Finally, the under 18 selection will entertain Salesian School, a Secondary from Chertsey in Surrey.  The touring school warm up with a match against a selection of 6th Formers from Bayside Comprehensive School on Friday, the boys Comprehensive in Gibraltar, some of whom will likely represent the under 18’s the following day at 2:30pm.
