Just a quick update, apologies for the lack of a blog post in the last month or so, but a holiday combined with other factors meant that I put this to the back of my mind for a bit. Should hopefully have a blog by the end of the weekend.
Lincoln have, once again, comfortably won the league, and are in the Rock Cup semi finals, which means a treble is looking likely this season, after winning the Pepe Reyes Super Cup 1-0 against St Josephs back in October
In division 2, it looks like Lynx are on the path to winning the league and gaining promotion to the first division (although obviously nothing is certain regarding promotions what with teams joining and dropping out every year).
The reserve leagues are a bit tighter, with Lincoln only holding a 1 point league at the last update (on gfa.gi), but they have played a game more than both Gibraltar United and St Josephs reserves, who are 1 and 2 points behind Lincoln respectively.
In the Rock Cup, we are down to the semi finalists, which sees St Josephs face Gibraltar United, and Lincoln come up against 2nd division FC Britannia XI.
In the 1st division cup, there was a surprise semi final win for St Josephs against the normally unflappable Lincoln, with the blue and whites getting a 2-1 win against Lincoln. The other semi final, between Gibraltar United, and Glacis United, is scheduled for the 12th May.
In the second division cup, Europa FC got a bye to the final, whilst the other semi final, between Leo Santos & Sons and Lynx, is to be contested on the 11th May.
Finally, the reserve cup sees St Josephs Reserves face Leo Santos & Sons Reserves, who, despite being 3rd bottom in the reserve league, saw off the challenge of Lincoln Reserves with a 3-1 victory over their more illustrious opponents.
The next blogs should be, if all things go to plan, club descriptions, on the bigger clubs at least.
Thanks for holding patience while the blog remained without any updates,
